Event Barista (Part time)
Location: Bedford Blues Rugby Club, Bedford
Hours: Part-time – primarily Friday evenings & Saturday afternoons/evenings (September–May, approx. 13 fixtures)
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced, energetic Barista to join the No.7 Coffee House team as we bring our coffee to the Bedford Blues Rugby Club for the 2025/2026 season. This isn’t your average coffee shop job, you’ll be preparing coffee in a lively, outdoor sports setting, where the atmosphere is electric, the weather is unpredictable, and the queues move fast.
If you can pull a perfect flat white while wearing gloves, keep smiling when the wind picks up, and thrive on the buzz of a busy crowd, we want you on our match day team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks, teas, hot chocolate and other beverages to match day standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service in a high-volume, fast-paced, and outdoor environment.
- Operate, clean, and maintain mobile coffee equipment to No.7 Coffee House standards.
- Manage stock levels during events, restocking as needed between rushes.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene guidelines at all times.
- Represent No.7 Coffee House professionally and warmly to customers, staff, and the Bedford Blues community.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Barista
- Previous experience in events, mobile catering, or outdoor hospitality (desirable)
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with a calm, friendly manner.
- Strong teamwork skills and flexibility to adapt as a match day flow changes.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions (rain, shine & often cold!).
- Excellent communication skills.
Perks of the Role
- Be part of the match day buzz at one of Bedford’s best-loved sporting venues.
- Staff discount at No.7 Coffee House.
- A fun, supportive team who share a love for great coffee and good atmosphere.
